Pestka
The design challenge
Pestka’s main problem was a complete lack of consistency in its visual communication, which translated directly into low recognition in a crowded food market. Random layouts and mismatched formats meant customers didn’t connect individual messages with a single producer. The answer wasn’t a one-off, flashy campaign but a precise ad template that guarantees repeatability and instant brand recognition on any medium. You can see the finished materials from the Pestka brand on its Instagram profile, among other places, and the whole system is built on a visual identity developed by the Kraków-based meteora agency.
Effective food advertising has to build trust by presenting the product’s origins honestly. In the first version of the template I went for an absolutely clean message, pairing the bottle with its natural ingredients, a halved pumpkin and its seeds, on a pure white background. This takes unnecessary weight off the composition and lets the product play the lead, while a bold, uncompromising headline at the top instantly catches the eye of someone scrolling through their social media feed.
Cultural context and functional typography
A regional product needs the right positioning, so in this version I shifted the focus to signaling where the oil comes from. A deep slate background creates a natural, raw contrast with the dark glass and scattered artisanal spices, directly evoking traditional, bold cooking. The key element is a subtle but precise use of the Hungarian flag’s colors in the word “Węgierski” (“Hungarian”) itself, a simple visual cue that makes the product easy to categorize without cluttering the design with extra icons.
Positioning in the premium segment
The system is flexible enough to change how the product is perceived quickly, without breaking the underlying geometric layout. A symmetrical, elegant background pattern and a central spotlight falling straight onto the product instantly move Pestka oil into the luxury category. It’s a deliberate design choice that shows how restrained use of light and shadow can noticeably raise a product’s market value and underline its “top shelf” taste, while keeping the information as minimal as intended.
A clean message about health benefits
When the main selling point is being 100% natural and GMO-free, the design has to reflect that without compromise. A light, slightly textured background combined with a soft green watercolor wash and a single leaf creates a visual lightness that fits the promise of healthy eating perfectly. The template keeps the bottle at the fixed center of the composition, while the text at the bottom delivers the hard facts as clearly as possible, free of distracting noise.
Depth and deliberate use of brand colors
A company’s communication doesn’t always have to be quiet, but it always has to rest on strict order. In this layout I used the deep green from Pestka’s visual identity, cut it in half with a strong gold band and laid a repeating geometric pattern over the lower part. Large, dark, overlapping lettering in the background is a deliberate choice that gives the flat graphic a sense of depth, while supporting the razor-sharp central tagline that invites you to discover the flavor in every drop.
The mechanics and full scalability of the template
Good design means building useful, logical tools for a business, not just pretty pictures. This slide lays bare the mathematical foundation of the ad system: a strict grid of dashed lines that sets the rules of proportion and defines safe margins. This rigid structure ensures that whether the client swaps the background, adds a new tagline in the space at the bottom or changes the context, the bottle and key information always stay in place, protecting the brand image from wearing down.
